I have been writing articles and submitting them online since 2006. In order to improve my writing, as well as my relationship with my list, I began writing articles for them a couple of years ago.

This works very well to help build your relationship with your prospects and clients as you help them to achieve their goals. If you are going to do this for the people on your list, think about the type of articles you will write, how you will promote them online, and how you will decide who to write articles for so that everyone feels it is fair.

Article marketing is one of the best ways to get free traffic to your sites and to promote what you are doing online, so writing an article for someone else is truly a way to show you care about them and their success.

Before you offer to do this across the board, decide which topics you will be able to write about with some level of authority.

I have now written articles in such diverse areas as prosperity and the law of attraction, making soy candles at home, and copper repiping. You can take a look at which topics your prospects and clients are involved in before committing to writing any articles.

Do some research before writing the article. I like to start with the person’s website, blog, and previous articles. This gives me a way to get to know more about my prospect and their topic.

If I still feel like I need more information, I will then go over to Google and do some research before writing the article.

Once I have written the article I will post it on my blog. I am sure to include a link to the person’s website, blog, or optin page so that they will get some traffic to their site and, hopefully, some sales down the road.

Then I submit the exact same article to the article directory, including a link in the resource box back to their site. These articles will typically be from three to four hundred words each.

The idea is that I am writing the article and promoting their site without any thoughts of earning a commission or gaining any recognition.

I believe this is the only way to truly show your people that you are writing the article strictly to show appreciation for them and for what they are doing.
